Computers are working their way into every nook and cranny of the business world, and magnetic tape is the number one choice for storage of important business data. Destruction of the storage media will cripple an entire computer system, however, so backup operations are crucial. To provide government agencies and businesses with a viable backup service, FISC has established a data media storage center covering nearly 640 m2 of floor space in a highly secure, climate-controlled facility with storage capacity for 400,000 tapes.
1. Storage facility covers nearly 640 m2 of floor space.
2. Independent air conditioning system ensures stable temperature and
humidity where data is stored.
3. The FISC data storage facility can handle magnetic media of all
descriptions, with capacity for over 400,000 tapes. And plans are in the works
for storage of other types of media, including optical discs and cassette
tapes.
4. Motor-driven storage racks and storage cases save space and increase
capacity, while multi-tiered security measures ensure safety.
5. 24-hours security guards and smart card access control. (back)

1. FISC provides to the customer, free of charge, a customer-end web
management system for use in managing data media. The system uses the
Fisc website to transmit requests for data media storage/retrieval.
2. Software/Hardware requirements for customer-end web management
system: Personal computer with a Pentium III or newer CPU, Windows
95/98/2000/XP operating system, modem, browser,internet connection,and
printer (optional), and e-mail address.
3. Professional security guards drive armored cars to customer-designated
location to pick up/deliver data media, thus saving customers the time and
manpower required for deliveries and pick up to/from widely scattered
locations.
4. When emergencies occur, FISC can provide emergency transport of data
media outside of regular business hours.
5. FISC uses an advanced storage management system. Each storage rack
and storage case is identified with a unique barcode that is read with a
Handy Terminal, which reduces the incidence of human error.
